St. Paul UCC Missions

At St. Paul we are called to serve others in various ways. Opportunities for mission arise locally, nationally and globally.

Local Missions:

Hunger CROP Walk is an annual mission effort to help address the needs of local, national and global hunger. Each year, persons participate in a walk through the streets of Barrington to raise money to help aid in this effort.

Barrington Giving Day occurs twice per year to help persons in the Barrington area provide food, clothing, school supplies and toys for their families. St. Paul participates in the collection of the needed items.

Thanksgiving Baskets is a food collection that provides families in the Barrington area with a complete Thanksgiving meal in November.

Annual Mitten Tree collection in November and December gathers warm-wear items for children and adults, and are distributed to Barrington area residents and the Night Ministry in Chicago.

The Community Meal, a ministry of Atonement Lutheran Church, seeks to encourage community bonding through a shared meal. St. Paul hosts the Community Meal in March and October each year.

National Missions:

Flood Buckets are created and sent to areas where natural disasters such as tornadoes and floods cause damage.

Mission Work Teams travel to areas where persons are needed to help in clean-up/reconstruction after natural disasters.
