Community Care Ministry
At St. Paul UCC, we are called to live the way of Jesus through stepping out into our world to serve others and make a difference.

St. Paul Suppers
St. Paul Suppers provides a delivered home-cooked meal from our St. Paul church kitchen for food insecure individuals in the Journeys: The Road to Home program and Greencastle of Barrington on the 2nd and 4th Sunday every month.  We believe we are called to feed those sisters and brothers challenged with food insecurity with dignity and grace. Everyone and anyone is welcome to join us! We need volunteers to cook, set-up, serve, grocery shop, and/or clean up.

St. Paul Pop-Up Food Pantry
On the 4th Thursday of every month, we provide items that are hard to find at most other food pantries such as toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, toothpaste and other non-perishable goods. Help us spread the news that St. Paul is here to help! We need individuals to help in packing and staging the bags every month, as well as handing out the items to our patrons  from our Fellowship Hall, and donating items and funds directly to the pantry.

Thanksgiving Boxes
A great overview report of a serving opportunity that is part of our vision and mission. We were featured in the United Church of Christ Newsletter at the end of 2022.

Over the past several years, we have partnered with Sunny Hill School in Carpentersville, IL to distribute Thanksgiving Boxes on the Monday of Thanksgiving week. We collect donations all year to provide a full Thanksgiving meal, including a $25 gift card to purchase a turkey or main course meal. Over $75 worth of food is provided - in 2023 our goal was to provide 200 boxes to the students at Sunny Hill School and we provided 223.  During the beginning of November, we need volunteers to pick up the food we ordered for the boxes  (pallets full!), pack the boxes, and deliver the boxes to Sunny Hill School during Thanksgiving week. Please come join us!! We are continuing this ministry into 2024.
