Explore Worship With Us

St. Paul United Church of Christ of Barrington, IL celebrates worship each Sunday morning at 9:30 am, encouraging a dynamic and heartfelt worship experience for everyone. We are open and affirming with a different approach to worship. We encourage everyone to question what they hear and experience, support our members in challenging “established church” thought processes while being excited to walk our faith journey together as an ever evolving congregation. We strive to grow together.

St. Paul United Church of Christ focuses on expressing the biblical, historical and theological integrity of Christian worship, yet leave space for God’s ever growing revelation for a modern age to be heard. To achieve the fullest expression of our Christian and UCC identity, worship services at St. Paul contain the following components:

  • Scripture
  • Prayer
  • Music
  • Proclamation
  • Holy Communion

How We Worship

Sunday's at St. Paul has an atmosphere that is less formal, yet offers many of the elements of worship that are familiar. The dress code is casual and comfortable. Using a blended format, Sunday services include singing of both historic and contemporary music, scripture and other inspirational readings, and a morning message designed to help participants explore their relationship with God.  We invite all to express themselves in worship through the offering of laughter, music, fellowship, and the sharing of Christ’s peace.

We feature our service LIVE on Facebook and YouTube every Sunday. See the links ABOVE.

Children and Youth are also encouraged to participate fully in the worship life of St. Paul United Church of Christ.

Communion

Holy Communion, also known as “The Lord’s Supper,” is shared on the first Sunday of each month, and on other special days of the church calendar. Holy Communion is a sacramental time of sharing in the bread and cup which represents the body and blood of Christ. St. Paul United Church of Christ practices an open table, which means that ALL are invited and welcomed to partake of this holy meal. Children and Youth as well are welcome to participate in Communion at St. Paul per the wishes of their parents. You do not need to be a member of St. Paul to participate in Holy Communion.

Following the  Sunday worship service, all are invited to continue the morning fellowship at a weekly coffee hour.
